Carol A. Chafe was appointed Child and Youth Advocate, effective September 27, 2010.

Ms. Chafe has 20 years of progressive management experience, with the last 13 years in senior management roles. Prior to assuming the role of Child and Youth Advocate, Ms. Chafe was Regional Director, Children’s and Women’s Health Program, Eastern Health Authority. Previous senior management positions included Program Director of Children’s and Women’s Health Program, Eastern Health Authority, Associate Program Director of the Children’s and Women’s Health Program with the then Health Care Corporation of St. John’s and Program Director of Women’s Health Program.

Ms. Chafe has a Master of Employment Relations from Memorial University. She has a Bachelor of Nursing from Memorial University and a Registered Nurse diploma from St. Clare’s School of Nursing.
